Submission: Merri-bek new Open Space Strategy

Council’s Open Space Strategy is important for setting Council goals with regard to open space in the municipality, in using this space efficiently for the benefit of all residents. This is particularly important given the need to consider biodiversity (The Nature Plan), and increasing need to adapt due to climate risks such as more extreme storms and fladh flooding and heatwave events.

We know this engagement will feed-in to a draft Strategy which is likely to go to Council in September for public exhibition and comment during November and final adoption by Council in December.
